2015 Illustrations digest

Now is the time to compose the digest collage of my illustration works in this year.

2014 / 2013

■ Jan – March
I was in depression after the graduation, and had not drawn much.

■ Apr – Jul
started to join in 60min drawing (the everyday small events among Japanese drawing-lovers on twitter) and improved the drawing speed and colouring sense/quality.

■ Aug – Oct
in depression again, and that was worst. however at that time, I did not quit drawing. I had cried & worried a lot, been at a loss, but still wished to improve my drawing skill.

■ Nov – Dec
gradually I have regained small self-confidence because I have garnered unexpected praise for my improved drawings and original freebies. Still I have big issues, but now I am stronger a bit than before.

10 Years Evolution Record

I found the oldest drawing work in the external HDD I have now – it was drawn in 2006 – then it is perhaps the time to make the “10 Years Evolution Record”!

2006
had drawn in complete analogue methods – with colour pencils, COPIC markers and manga-drawing sets. and sometimes scanned works and edit a bit with MS paint.

in those days, I had never expected that I become to think I want to work with game (& game art), and never imagined that I become to draw such works in real in the future. that’s true.

2007 – 2008
had continued to draw in analogue methods and enhanced the digital processing a bit. right about that time I knew about pen-tablet, and bought it, but I did not like it and just left it beside.

2009
had started to use Adobe Illustrator. I remember I had hard time to handle vector lines. still I had used mouse only.

2010
late this year, I registered in a creators’ SNS for the first time, and knew the world of Japanese creative culture via internet. There I noticed many people have been drawing with pen-tablet in full-digital method, and started to get used to them. at early time, I drew line-art in analogue method, took photo of it (I was in Switzerland as an exchange and had no scanner), process with Illustrator, and coloured it with SAI. I remember that I was so impressed in the “add” layer effect in SAI (that’s awesome, really cool to add flashy expression!!), and had hard time to get used to watercolour brushes (it mixed up the colours against my will!!).

2011
gradually I had been getting used to digital drawing and had tried to do something fun/interesting. in those days I had used Photoshop elements as well and found that there were so many awesome cool brushes.

also around the time I started creating & releasing texture freebies.

2012
still used SAI and had been drawing mini characters in thicker lines.

2013
in this year I have started to have interest in game art because of the projects at uni. (at last)
and gradually I had shifted the main software from SAI to Clip Studio Paint (Manga Studio).

2014
still drawing, even if my drawings have not garnered immense praise or attention

2015
still drawing since I cannot help but love it

#10年進化録

手持ちのデータ内で、たぶん最古の絵が丁度2006年だったので。
(2005年の、美術の授業の絵手紙みたいなのはあったけど)

いろいろと懐か死恥ずか死い思いをしながら作ってみた、例の進化録的ナニカ。
…と、過去の解説、思い出話。

2006
オールアナログ (COPIC、色鉛筆、ちょっぴり漫画家セットw)。描いたものをスキャン、MSペイントでセリフ入れ…くらいなら出来てたらしい。携帯で写真撮るとか。

Ys6やフェルガナをやってたけれど、当時はまさか自分がこう、ゲームの絵に関わりたいと思うとか、そういう絵をこの手で描く事になるとか、そんなのは全く想像していなかった。むしろ当時はゲーム音楽の方 (聴く/作る) に興味があった。

2007
初めて自分用のPCを手にする。まだアナログだが、スキャナで取り込み、背景を消去、MSペイントで描いたベタ絵や、PhotoStudio (Canonスキャナ付属) で作った素材と合わせたり、そのPhotoStudioで多少ハイライト入れたりフィルタ掛けたり…くらいはやってたっぽい。あとはマウスで銅鐸をグリグリと。ペンタブなんて知らない。あとレイヤーってナニソレ状態。

2008
この頃にペンタブの存在を知ったような。Favo?でも全然慣れなくて、ただ置いてるだけ。2007年と同じ状態。進化無。中世欧州な鉛筆漫画 (TTの原点) をひっそりと。

2009
2007年からやり始めた、アナログ×デジタル技術が多少は進歩した模様。PhotoStudioでグラデーションやスタンプを使って作った背景に、コピック絵を合わせて年賀状にしたりとか。
さらにはIllustratorを触り始める。ベクターってナンダロウ。
この頃もまだマウス。

2010
今は無きサイトマスターに登録。同人とか、他の創作者さんとか、そういう世界を知る。
inスイスだったので、スキャナないしはデジカメで撮った線画をIllustratorで処理、SAIで塗ってみたり。ペンタブやお絵かき専門ソフトを使い始めた頃。

思えばこの、背景に使ったセフィーロ絵が、デジタルで初めて描いた背景・風景画だったかもしれん…。SAIの発光レイヤーに感動し、水彩筆が勝手に混色するのが鬱陶しかった思い出。(でもその後すぐボカシ魔になる)

2011
デジタルに慣れ始めて、色々と面白い事しようとしてた頃。



なんかこう、つながるやつとか

SAIと、Photoshopエレメンツも併用するようになり、ブラシにハマる。世の中いろんな素敵ブラシがあるもんですネー。

ついでに、テクスチャ素材を作って配布するようになったのも、このあたりだったかもしれない。妖怪SAIスキー。

あとはサイトの10000HIT記念のフリー絵とかもね (笑)。なつかしーですネー(目逸

このあたりから割と知ってる人もちらほら居そうな(震
引き続きSAIスキーで頭身低め・線画太めで描いていた。

2013
引き続き描いてる。太い線画 (自称切絵線画) を使ったステンドグラス風絵が最盛期?
あとはこの頃から、院のプロジェクトなんかもあって、ゲームのコンセプトアートに興味を持ち始める。
創作「MicroConqueror」をやり始めたのもこの年デスネー。
環境は徐々に SAI から Clip Studio Paint に移行。

2014
評価されなくたって描いてる。

2015
結局やめられないとまらない。

とりあえずコレ置いときますね

Here is the digest of my drawings in the 2nd half of this year.

Again recent months I have started joining in the everyday 1h drawing event on twitter and have had drawn a lot – totally this year I have drawn almost 6 times as many as last year!

I hope I have progressed in my drawing skills etc…

組合せは Battle_22。

こういうの作って流してると、制作が5倍くらい捗って楽しいんですもの。
